Chemrez Tech Experiences Substantial Growth in Income Throughout 2009 Despite Economic Crisis
The Manila Bulletin Publishing Company reports that Philippino manufacturer Chemrez Technologies, Inc. experienced a growth in income of six percent from 2008 to 2009, raking in a total of P468 million compared to P372 million in 2008. The company says that the growth was due to increased biodiesel demand caused by more widespread B2 mandates. However, Chemrez also notes that profit margins are diminishing in this area due to increased competition. Chemrez also reports that exports of oleochemical products other than biodiesel rose considerably throughout 2009 as well, up 11 percent from the previous year.
