Gonzales plant shuts down for now

The Californian reports that the biodiesel plant in Gonzales, California has been temporarily shuttered because of what the owner sees as a lack of support from the U.S. government. On January 1, a $1 per gallon tax credit that made biodiesel an affordable alternative to diesel expired. The loss of the credit meant that Energy Alternative Solutions would lose money on every gallon it produced at its Gonzales plant.
