Nanaimo to get large-scale biodiesel pumps

Written on December 15, 2009

Biofuels International reports that the first large-scale biodiesel pumps in Nanaimo, Canada will be set up next year for people to use in modified vehicles. The Nanaimo Recycling Exchange will offer the service in participation with Cowichan Energy Alternative. At $1.22 per liter the biodiesel is slightly more expensive than regular petrol. The biodiesel will be dispensed by a solar powered hose system and will be stored in a 6,500-liter tank.
