Valero wants to buy more ethanol facilities
Delaware Online reports that Valero Energy is looking to buy more ethanol plants because they provide a good supplement to Valero’s business of producing gasoline, diesel and other fuels, CEO Bill Klesse said. Valero said it will consider plants that are available at below their replacement cost. Because of pressure on gasoline and diesel margins, the company is considering selling its refinery in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Valero has permanently closed its Delaware City refinery after considering a sale.
