Lignol receives financing from Canadian gov’t
The Star reports that Lignol Energy Corp., a company involved in developing cellulosic ethanol and biorefining, says it has been given $4.7 million in financing from Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a financing agency created by the federal government. Lignol said the funding helps support its ethanol pilot plant operating in Burnaby, a Vancouver suburb. The plant uses feedstocks including, beetle-killed, Lodgepole pine trees to make ethanol. Ross MacLachlan, CEO of Lignol, said the company and federal agency have worked closely for years.
