Midwest governors ask EPA to increase ethanol blends
Inside Indiana Business reports that several U.S. Midwestern governors recently wrote to
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson requesting that ethanol blends be increased to 15%. The letter comes as the EPA considers this change to federal rules. Under current EPA regulations, alcohol-gasoline is limited at 10% by volume in unleaded gasoline. The letter was signed by Governors Pat Quinn, Mitch Daniels, Chester Culver, Mark Parkinson, Tim Pawlenty, John Hoeven, Ted Strickland, Jim Doyle, Mike Rounds, and Jennifer Granholm.
