Investor eyes Western Visayas as source of renewable energy

The News Today reports that the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Western Visayas, Philippines, reported that an investor has recognized the source of plants in the region to develop and generate biomass fuel. According to a National Economic and Development Authority report, Mario San Juan of BizMinded Concepts, told the RDC that their company promotes the development of sustainable and renewable energy initiatives by developing potentials of plants like coconut, sunflower, jathropa and algae as sources of biodiesel. San Juan said their company hopes to tap private landowners with sizeable plantations in the region to reinforce its network of feedstock sources.
