Wannarat says no plan for hike in Oil Fund contribution
The Nation reports that Thailand Energy Minister Wannarat Charn-nukul insisted that the ministry has no plan to hike oil retailers’ contribution to the Oil Fund, paving the way for lower retail prices once the global prices descend. The minister said the Oil Fund now sees the balance in retailers’ contribution and expenses, involving mainly in the subsidies of alternative energy and LPG imports. Wannarat insisted that there would be no shortage of ethanol this year, due to the commercial commencement of two cassava-based ethanol plants
