Eastern Renewables seeks to finance Isabela ethanol plant

Manila Standard reports that Eastern Renewables and Fuels Corp. will seek loans from local banks to finance its $30-million ethanol plant in Isabela, Philippines. Eastern Petroleum president Fernando Martinez said he was negotiating with new partners for the ethanol plant. Eastern Renewables earlier signed a memorandum of understanding with Guanxi Estates of China for the construction of an ethanol plant in Sarangani province in Mindanao. Martinez said the proposed power ethanol plant would use cassava as feedstock.
