Disneyland’s Trains Now Running on Its Restaurant’s Waste Oil-Biodiesel
Domestic Fuel reports that Florida’s Disneyland is now using leftover waste oil from its restaurants to produce biodiesel for the theme park’s trains. Although park officials previously tried a green initiative by using soy-based biodiesel, underground storage problems caused those measures to be scrapped. This is good because it eliminates the food versus fuel issue as well as capitalizes on a waste-to-fuel approach. Eventually park officials hope to use the waste oil-based biodiesel to power a steamboat, some cleaning equipment, and light towers at the park.
