Rice University Develops New Fermentation Process
CapitalPress.info reports Ramon Gonzalez and William Akers at Rice University created a new fermentation process with funding from the USDA’s Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service. The fermentation process uses E. coli to turn glycerin into high-value chemicals. The glycerin is mostly available as waste from biodiesel and ethanol production.
