Researchers to Modify Genes for Increased Biofuel Production
CleanTech.com reports that researchers at Purdue University are saying that modifying genes used in cell wall formation of corn and switchgrass could help increase levels of biofuel production. The genes can be modified to produce more biomass. The researchers are planning to look at breeding success, genome sequences, and cell-wall composition of the plant genes to find the best option for biofuel production.
