RFA Reports Greenhouse Gas Reductions and Biofuel Targets

Written on August 19, 2008

LowCarbonEconomy.com reports that the Renewable Fuels Agency found that using biofuels reduced greenhouse gases by 42% in the first reporting month. The percentage does not count emissions on the Gallagher Review which include indirect changes in land use. RFA’s report was provided by fuel producers in the UK. The report also showed that fuel targets in the UK have not been met. Only 2.14% of all UK road fuels contained biofuel which fell short of the annual biofuel target of 2.5%.
