AMEC Building Facility to Turn Dirty Diapers into Biodiesel
CNews.Canoe.ca reports that AMEC, a engineering and project management company in Quebec, plans to build a facility that would turn dirty diapers into synthetic diesel fuel. A process called pyrolysis can convert the diapers into diesel. Initial plans involve using 25% of the diapers that end up in Quebecs landfills every year (30,000 tonnes of diapers) to make about 11,000 tonnes of biodiesel.
